Do you want to learn how to make photo impressionist artwork with your cell phone (or other camera)?
I do it with my iPhone! I truly believe that art making is about the artist, not the tool. The tool is important, but YOU are the one wielding it. You are the one that the vision comes from. Before the iPhone, I made art with a plastic camera called Holga. Nothing fancy, just an imperfect plastic lens. 🎨
I believe that anyone can make art with anything that is available to them. It’s one reason why I love trash art!! But that’s another story.
So in honor of imperfect action and just taking a giant leap, I’m creating a new learning and inspiration membership for YOU.
The intention is to teach you how to make photo impressionist art with your phone (or camera) wherever you are.
My secret goal, deeper than the art making, is to inspire you to pause in your life, in your day to day routine and see things in a new way, to connect deeper to your feelings, to the moment and to the energies around you.
And in not exactly knowing the layout of the program, I am trusting in my intuition and offering a 🍾 FOUNDER'S launch of this new collective!
We will NOT cover:
This is a creative collective for anyone regardless of their technical skills and background. A technical professional might enjoy trying something new and letting go of the tech while embracing the blur! We will focus on creativity, spontaneity and play!
Rebecca Tolk is a fine art photographer, digital artist and designer living and working in Houston, TX. As a Washington, DC native she has traveled extensively throughout the east coast to create her artwork for nearly 30 years.
Rebecca’s career began in 1995 photographing weddings and children’s portraits in the metro DC area with clients ranging from congressional candidates to Hollywood actors, and everyone in between. In 2003 she moved to Asheville, NC to pursue her artistic vision of photographing nature with a plastic toy Holga camera to create colorful, ethereal and timeless images of the natural world.
Rebecca’s work has been featured internationally as a select artist with Holga Inspire, an international traveling exhibit hosted by the Holga Camera Company. She was one of 10 photographers hand picked by Mr TM Lee, the maker of the now defunct camera.
She has placed over 500 works of art in The Ritz Carlton Hotels and Spa, The DoubleTree by Hilton, Paradise Island Atlantis, McGraw Hill, Raymond James, and The University of Texas Medical Branch, among other prestigious institutions.
Her artwork has been exhibited at The Hallmark Institute of Photography, Brooks Institute, Centre of Fine Art Photography, Soho Photo Gallery > Chicago Photography Center.
Rebecca is published in Plastic Cameras, Toying with Creativity by Michelle Bates, and has been featured in Medium, Thrive Global and BizWomen, The Business Journal.
Rebecca’s mission is to help the viewer connect deeply to themselves and the world around them through playful, whimsical and ethereal imagery.
Can I use a different phone or an old phone?
Yes! Any cell phone or camera will work. We can make accommodations for any picture taking device.
Can I use a dslr or mirrorless camera?
Yes! You may have to go about things a bit differently than the cell phone users, but we will support all types of picture takers!
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes! Cancel anytime via email to Rebecca. If you cancel in the middle of your payment month, you can finish out the month. Months are not prorated.
How easy is it to do this? I have no photo experience.
Soooo easy!! If you can push the button to take a picture you can do this! We will work with filters, apps, composition, lighting, etc. All are easily learned. Most important is you desire to experiment and play!
What if I can’t make the zoom calls?
How much is the time commitment?
